Thai Chicken Curry Laksa

I had to make another special mission with my ever ready companion Troggie to source ourselves yet another laksa to review, for some reason laksa just isn't high on the list at corporate events and unfortunately with out going to work I cannot afford to keep up my Laksa addiction its a vicious cycle that with chase each other until the end of time....

So with a place already in mind we head off into the city for another adventure. There is no special process as to which place that we choose next to be reviewed it can be as simple as walking past a place, this one Troggie had spotted on his walk home one day.

With a quick check of the menu to see that what we want is there, and surprise it is two Thai Chicken curry Laksa's are ordered and we are sitting in a window seat watching the world go by. Soon two very large bowls of steaming curry broth are placed happily before us.
The first thing I notice to be different is the inclusion of asparagras, not a common ingredient found in Laksa and being a bit of an asparagras fan I'm not put off by the whole idea, also the much heavier taste of coriander this as the name suggests holds some very Thai influences.. The Curry Sauce itself is a nice rich sauce probably a little more on the chilli side of things for taste rather than a curry flavour but none the less still a very tasty red concoction. The tofu is a bit thick for my liking, not the spongy type that just soaks up the sauce beautifully. And for some reason Troggie ended up with a chunk of tomato something that didn't appear in my dish at all and Troggie found to be a bit weird...
My only other little gripe with the place was the fact that we only had very shallow spoons to try and get all that sauce in with and it really proved to be an issue especially when they serve you up such a big bowl n the first place.

So besides the lack of depth to my spoon and the inclusion of Troggie's tomato chunk in his bowl of laksa it wasn't to bad at all, yes it has a Thai influence but it doesn't try to hide this fact by telling you this in the name Thai chicken curry Laksa.
So another place in the city that you can drop by for a Laksa this one just has slightly different origins

Verdict - A Big Bowl full of nice spicy noodles and gravy that will fill you up..
