Its been a Long time between Laksa's due to the Birth of my beautiful daughter, but she has to learn sometime and at 11 weeks of age its a perfect time to start her, okay maybe she is just a little bit young to be sampling this fine tasty dish and it's probably a bit early to be swapping curry broth for breast milk but hey she can certainly still come along for the ride and start to enjoy the environment that is a good Malaysian restaurant. Besides my Dad and Mum who started taking me to these places at a young age was with us and wanted to go somewhere for lunch so off to Chinatown in the city we go to hunt down a new Laksa for the website.

Now the first thing that we found different with this place is that you have to write down your own order then hand it to the waitress instead of them writing it down for you, a novel idea and one that nearly had me ordering dish 27 instead of dish 26 (dish 27 being the fish head vermicelli in a laksa soup not just a straight Curry Laksa) thankfully not only do you write down the dish no. but also the actual dishes name so after the waitress asked me which one it was meant to be the initial stage of the ordering was done and now all we had to do was wait for the impending dishes to arrive, we had ordered several other meals but I was there just for the Laksa alone.
Anyway it was not long before we all had our orders sitting before us ranging from Garlic prawns to Nasi Lemak and of course that addictive bowl of noodles ..
The Laksa here comes in a nice big deep bowl and as the picture suggests it has that red and amber appearance with little treasures hidden below its toxic surface. There is a mixture of both Hokkien Noodles and Vermicelli Noodles a few bits of broccoli for green and some decent chunks of tofu soaking up that curry flavour yum...

Now this was essentially a prawn Laksa with a few bits of fish cake thrown in, the prawns where of decent size and didn't taste watery so I think that they where fairly fresh. The curry broth was nice and tasty without being over the top hot I personally would of preferred a bit more kick to it but that is nothing that cannot be fixed with a bit of fresh chilli sauce or some sambal olek which even though I did not order any I would imagine shouldn't be too much of an ask considering the name of the place its only draw back is that it is not far from one of my favourite laksa places in town so if I was in town for lunch I would probably go there, but on the upside it is open for dinner which unfortunately the other place is not.
