$11.80 Laksa

I've walked past this place a couple of times now and have told myself that I should give it a go, it's one of very few Asian restaurants amongst a very heavily populated Italian strip.

So when I found myself down this way and in need of a good Laksa fix, I went in by myself to give it a crack. The first thing that I notice is the price, hmmm nearly double what you would normally pay for such a dish, but I wasn't going to let that faze me, I actually think that so far this is the most expensive Laksa that I have reviewed! I've seen Laksa's get up to $18 in some places but this just goes against everything that a Laksa should be considering its heritage...

Anyway after ordering one Laksa and a roti to go with it I sit back and wait for it to arrive

Well before I knew it I had a big bowl of steaming noodles in a thick yellow broth served up before me and the first thing that I notice was the large chunks of eggplant sitting on top soaking up the gravy like the tofu does, Yum!!. As I reach for the roti I am a little surprised to find that it is luke warm. I'm not going to let it effect my judgment but it sure throws a quick query over the dish so far.
Anyway back to the Laksa. Its a full flavoured Laksa with no need to add any extra chilli as its quite spicy enough as it is and its full of chicken bits and big bits of tofu. There is also a some fish cake and a prawn as well so its full of all the good things and its put together just how it should be.
