Noodle Chef - Victoria - Laksa Restaurant Review

413 Hampton St Hampton (03) 95210199 $8.80 Chef's Own Curry Laksa Here's a place that is quite local to me. I've never before looked at the menu while walking past & it's sometimes these Laksa's that surprise me the most. I guess it's because you have no expectations. My mate, Grazza and I are the only people in the restaurant, but then again it's quite late in the day ….
So with two laksa's on the order, we sit at the booths by the window and watch the world pass by… It's not too long before we have a huge bowl of steaming hot noodles before us, stacked to the max with vegetables, while it doesn't look to have a very thick curry sauce, it is definitely giving off that "oh so familiar" aroma... So never being afraid of trying something new, we both tuck in… The first thing I notice is that although it does have the flavour of a laksa, It just doesn't quite have "the kick" that I'm looking for, but hey, nothing that a trip to the front counter to ask for a few fresh chillies won't fix.
	Now all that aside what we are left with is one very nice, yet mild laksa. It's packed full of fresh vegetables, a couple of prawns, some very nice swirls of squid and a couple of bits of bib pork, the tofu was probably the more disappointing part of the dish as it was a bit thick and heavy for myself. But apart from that I walked out a very happy and content laksa taster…… Noodle Chef Rating - 7 / 10 Verdict - A nice mild laksa jammed full of vegtables.
