This little restaurant is situated inside the Adelaide Fruit and Veg Markets; it's a pokey little café with plenty of life and atmosphere….

I had three choices of laksa to choose from. The Vegetarian and The Combination both at $6.60 and The Seafood at $9.90. I chose to go with the combination, seeing that was the advertised "Chef's Special" and was also the same Laksa that my mate Troggie had dined upon.

So the laksa quickly arrived, The bowl, (although it looked small) was full to the brim with hokkien noodles, chicken, fish cake and a thick curry gravy... mmmm... this is going to be great… There is no heavy flavour of fish sauce which I believe can be way too overpowering. And the chilli sits just right, it doesn't burn it just tingles the tongue, so far so good…

The chicken itself is cooked to perfection but could be in bigger chunks for my liking and it's a bit vacant of vegetables. As I've said before, I don't mind a few greens throw in just for colour - otherwise its all a bit yellow, but this won't effect the flavour at all it's just a personal thing.

I'm not going to say it's the best Laksa I've ever had but it's definitely up there. It's one of the better sauce's but it lacked a little bit of veg. The fish cake wasn't over the top .. just enough ..

Although the bowl did look very small there is ample amount of food and I didn't leave a thing behind - so they are obviously doing something right …

Looking around this restaurant, the majority of the patrons are sitting in front of a bowl of Laksa so it is obviously the dish of choice …

Verdict - Could have done with just a bit of veg and larger chunks of chicken...

Otherwise an excellent laksa by all accounts…
