So hidden away amongst a housing community somewhere in the older
part of town, Buck takes me to where the British Colonies first
landed and set up shop in Singapore
Buck hopes that the
goverment will retain a bit of this older area just for historical
reasons rather than stack up the high rise apartments .....
So on to the Laksa
You just know its going
to be a good one when there's a big pot of Laksa Gravy with loads
of Tofu soaking in it
mmmm
And I'm not disappointed at all
. Although
there isn't much in the way of veg, the pure taste of the gravy
sauce alone is enough to keep me happy there is something very
special about a good gravy. I suppose it is like a good stock
just constantly simmering away thick with flavour mmmm, anywayback
to the laksa .
There is also a mix of noodles and bean sprouts and have I mentioned
the large chunks of tofu that are floating in the gravy? Add to
this a couple of bits of chicken and some of those little shellfish
like bits (clams - getting use to them now) and I was one extremely
happy laksa taster .
